As we settle into September, the shift in the air is hard to miss. The days are a little shorter, the evenings a bit cooler, and those backyard grills start seeing less action. With the summer season winding down, it felt like the right moment to give one of our favorite warm-weather meals a proper sendoff.
This will be the last time we’re offering this meal until grilling season returns next year, and we wanted to take a moment to highlight what makes our Cedar Plank Salmon so special.
If you’ve never cooked with a cedar plank before, it’s a method that’s as much about practicality as it is about flavor. When soaked and placed on the grill, the plank smolders– releasing steam and smoke as it heats. The steam gently cooks the salmon, keeping it incredibly tender while infusing it with the cedar’s naturally sweet, smoky aroma.
Beyond flavor, it also solves one of the biggest challenges of grilling fish: sticking. The plank supports the fillet throughout the cook—no flipping, no falling apart, and no need for a clunky fish basket. And once it’s done, it even doubles as a rustic serving board!
On top of the salmon, our house-made dill yogurt sauce is a quiet standout in this meal. A simple mix of Greek yogurt, fresh dill, and a bit of citrus brings a brightness that beautifully complements the richness of the salmon and elevates every bite.
To round out the plate is a personal favorite: our lemon orzo pasta salad. Light and fresh with feta, red bell peppers, and just enough lemon to bring it all together–it brings color and texture without feeling too heavy.
Altogether, it’s a meal that feels like late summer: relaxed, balanced, and full of flavor. Whether you’re squeezing in one last evening on the patio or just looking for something seasonal to enjoy at home, you can find this meal on our September 29th menu.
We hope you enjoy it!
